Reading and Literature -

1. Reads a variety of texts.

3. Uses strategies for constructing meaning that include annotating, interpreting, connecting, and analyzing.

• I am able to take notes from 3 different types of resources that address the topic of how and why my system works.

4. Evaluate and synthesize information within and across texts.

• I am able to combine my research sources so that I can explain how the elements of my system work.

Writing -

1. Writes using a form appropriate to purpose and topic.

• I can write in paragraph form to explain to my audience how and why my system works.

2. Writes to communicate and report information from research.

• My paragraphs are clear to my audience.

3. Revise

• I can rewrite my paragraphs for topic sentence, appropriate details, organization, and closing sentence.

• My paragraphs are edited for spelling, punctuation, correct use of words.

• My web site has been displayed on the internet.

• I have explained what could cause my system to malfunction and why.

Oral Communication -
