The Egyptian People

This is a picture of an Egyptian man drinking wine in everyday life.

The Egyptian people kept this system together by believing in the gods. If there were no people there would be no one to worship the gods. The Egyptians were a pagan culture that believed in supreme beings. The people got from these gods a sense that there would be an afterlife when they died. They also got from this system an explanation for daily events. They held the gods responsible for the death of things, the birth of things, destruction, the creation of the Earth etc. The Egyptian people gave offerings to their many gods and also gave them great monumental temples.
