Aikane 'O Nuuanu
Aikane 0 Nuuanu, or "Friends of Nuuanu" is an organization comprised of parents, teachers, staff, and the Principal of Nuuanu Elementary School. It was founded in 1975 by parents and teach ers concerned with improving and assisting the school's activities, programs, policies and community relations.
Since its inception, Aikane 0 Nuuanu has sponsored the yearly school fundraiser, the Family Fun Night, parent and teacher workshops and Campus Beautification events. To assist the working parents of Nuuanu Elementary School, Aikane has also introduced the Early Arrival Program, the After School Supplemental Program, and the Summer School Program.
Aikane 0 Nuuanu's goal is to create, develop and maintain the spirit of "ohana" between the students.. parents... faculty and staff... and surrounding community.
