Moanalua High School Meeting
Regional Schedule / timer / watch

Round 1
Round 2
Round 3
Teams build and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS technology to score points in 2.5-minute matches on a themed playing field.
Teams explore an actual problem that today's scientists and engineers are trying to solve, develop an innovative solution to that problem, and share their findings.
Example from 2011:
The FLL Core Values are the fundamental elements that distinguish FLL from other programs of its kind. Participants learn that friendly competition and mutual gain are not separate goals, and that helping one another is the foundation of teamwork.

Coming September 2012
Can FIRST® LEGO® League teams improve the quality of life for seniors by helping them continue to be independent, engaged, and connected in their communities? In the 2012 Senior SolutionsSM Challenge, over 200,000 children ages 9 to16* from more than 60 countries will explore the topic of aging and how it may affect a person's ability to maintain his or her lifestyle - solving issues like getting around, keeping in touch, or staying fit. Teams will research obstacles and then suggest ways to improve the quality of life for the seniors affected. Teams will also build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® robot to solve a set of missions on an obstacle course. Throughout their experience, teams will operate under FLL's signature set of Core Values.
This year's theme, "Food Factor Challenge - Keeping Food Safe," is an exercise to see if the teams can improve the quality of food by finding ways to prevent food contamination. They will explore the issues involving food safety at every point in the supply chain, including farming methods, pest and microbial mitigation, hygiene, sanitation and critical control points throughout processing, transportation and storage. The challenge is to find ways to prevent or combat the contaminants before the product reaches the food supply.
