ʻAikane o Nuʻuanu, or “Friends of Nuʻuanu” is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of parents, teachers, staff, and the Principal of Nuʻuanu Elementary School. Since its inception in1975, ʻAikane o Nuʻuanu has sponsored the yearly school fundraiser, the Family Fun Night, parent and teacher workshops and Campus Beautification events. To assist the working parents of Nuʻuanu Elementary School, ʻAikane has also introduced the Early Arrival Program, the After School Supplemental Program, and the Summer Intersession Program. ʻAikane o Nuʻuanu’s goal is to create, develop and maintain the spirit of ʻohana between the students, parents, faculty, staff and surrounding community.
